AFL 16 team competion??

The AFL is currently investigating the idea of 2 new teams to enter the competition! The two teams would be located in Western Sydney and the Goldcoast, The Goldcoast being the AFL's first priority with plans to incorporate Western Sydney in the same year. The AFL has already begun moving towards the introduction of the Gold coast team with the target being 2011. Ultimately both teams would be introduced at the same time at the beginning of 2011 however at this stage it looks as though Western Sydney is a fair way behind a Goldcoast team in terms of planning and preparation.
MY THOUGHTS
In my opinion there is not much need for another team in the AFL, i think 16 teams is a suitale number and i find it hard to see the two new teams gaining a big fan base, mainly due to the popularity of rugby interstate. Having said this however, I see the AFL's desire to expand and realise they are trying to better the competition. We may not like it at first but perhaps we'd grow to enjoy it and it would be great for the AFL as an organisation. After all im sure there were many people opposing the entry of fremantle and port adeliade into the league but now they provide some big revenue for the AFL and are very entertaining sides with a big fan base.
